These terms cover joining Exeter Formula Student (XRacing or XElectric) and using this website. By submitting the join form, you agree to them.
Eligibility
Membership is open to current University of Exeter students with a valid @exeter.ac.uk email address. We check this automatically on the join form.
Membership and fees
Membership runs for one season and covers one team only — XRacing (combustion) or XElectric (electric), not both. Season fees are set per team and shown on the join page at the time you apply; they may change between seasons.
Membership is paid by bank transfer. After paying, you upload proof of your transfer through the join form. A committee member checks this against our bank account and approves or rejects your application — your membership is not confirmed until it's approved.
Switching teams
You can switch from one team to the other within 14 days of submitting your application, free of the admin hassle of reapplying — just contact us. Because the two teams currently have different fees, a switch usually means either a small refund or a small top-up payment to cover the difference; we'll tell you which applies and sort it out with you directly. After the 14-day window, your team is fixed for the season.

Using this website
Please use the join form honestly — don't submit false payment proof or apply on someone else's behalf without their knowledge. We may reject applications or remove members for misuse of the site, non-payment, or serious breaches of these terms or of Guild/university policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms between seasons — for example, if fees change. The current version always applies to new applications; we'll flag any change that materially affects existing members.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
